   1954  - Oprah was born in Mississippi,USA.
   

   1971  -  Her career in broadcasting started.
   

   1976   - Her big breakthrough came with the launch of her own extremely popular TV chat show                      'People Are Talking'.
 

  1985   - She was nominated for an Oscar at the Academy Awards for her performance at Steven                        Spielberg film in 'The Color Purple'.

  2007   - She opens an academy for poor girls in South Africa.
